One of the Chevy dealers called me the other day trying to get me to buy a car. Chevy is running a 0% for 72 months finance deal, so I thought I might try to get a steal of a deal on a Camaro. Jay Lauer came with me too.

Long story short, they had a 2015 1SS for $36k, and I figured if I could get a really unrealistic trade in value on the Sonic and the Camaro for $30k I could make it work.

After spending an inordinate amount of time going back and forth with the sales manager they unsurprisingly couldn’t get me what I wanted. I expected that, but figured it was worth testing to see how desperately they wanted to get rid of a 2015. No new Camaro for me. In hindsight, that was for the best.]

We went to the Ford dealer next because I wanted to try and get a test drive in the new Mustang, both GT and Ecoboost.

I really liked them. The GT I expected to like, but the Ecoboost? I liked it a lot more than I expected.

Back to back with the GT it certainly wasn’t fast, but unlike my Sonic it actually has plenty of torque down low. It’s no slouch overall, and it’s really comfortable to drive. I’m a fan.

Now I’m very curious in the turbo Camaro, and definitely want to wait for it to show up to test it against the Ecoboost Mustang. I think one of these might be in my future...
