So with the 2005 Equinox there is a bad design with the EGR tube that goes from the exhaust manifold up to the EGR valve and into the intake manifold. It is kinked at the top which caused a leak.
I bought a new pipe and been putting it off until today, as the pipe didn't come with an upper gasket or new bolt. So I picked those up, but I knew of a Service Bulletin but was unsure if it had been done.
The parts guy was nice and printed out the 4 page TSB for me where I read through it and the old connector has to be cut & new one put on, along with a flash of ECU. I am sure I can do the labor on my own except for the flash of ECU.
Well, it hasn't been done and the kit is $361.74. The valve itself isn't bad so I may just get some epoxy and slather it on the underside of the kinked pipe after I wire brush off the residual dirt & oxidation from the leak.
