Ships Through the Ages, ISBN 9780706400182. My dad had a copy of it on his shelf when I was very little. I used to be fascinated by the pictures but couldn’t read it. The other day I stumbled across it at a used book store and of course snatched it up. It is fantastic. It gives a detailed history of shipbuilding and notable ships all throughout history, from the first dugout tree trunks to the viking longboats to modern day (circa 1970s) supertankers. Anyone who’s into boats needs to own this.
