It’s three weeks now since I drove home from North Carolina to New Jersey with my S2000. Today I washed it for the first time. I was actually startled by how good the condition is.

Running my hands over its curves for the first time, I was struck by how nuanced and sexy the design really is, particularly the front fenders. I die a little each time I look at those horrid Autocar renders of a hypothetical next-gen S2000.

After some indecision, I think I’m settling on the name Tintaglia, a dragon from fantasy literature. (There is also a racehorse by that name, presumably also named after the dragon.)

Tintaglia is the first dragon to be hatched in a long time. She is a queen of azure and blue.

Order of the day:

  • Meg’s Deep Crystal Car Wash
  • Meg’s Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax (liquid)
  • Meg’s Gold Class Leather Cleaner (seats and shift boot)
  • Meg’s Quik Interior Detailer Wipes
  • Invisible Glass
  • Rain-X

This is my first time using Invisible Glass. Great stuff!

I didn’t do anything with the soft top yet.

That Cindy Crawford spot on the front bumper is the tow hook hole; I popped the plug when I had the cover off for the horn install, as that’s where my front plate will be. I meant to put the bracket on for the photos, but I forgot!
