The only thing I’m concerned about now, that I didn’t think about before, is the heat. Heat and sunlight (and cheap AF GM interior materials) are the reasons all Pontiac Sunbirds (except mine and maybe 1 or 2 others) have dashboards like this:

I hate the way they raise up over the radio. It looks gross. Mine has only done it a tiny bit due to it being largely garage kept and hardly driven all its life (it’s a 1990 with 58k on it). As you all know, I plan to continue that by keeping it in my new garage (pictured here), but it’ll get hot in there during the summer.

Here’s mine, for reference:

The previous garage of my friend’s that I’ve been storing it in has a dirt floor and sliding wood doors, so it isn’t weathertight and has more ventilation than this garage will. There is some ventilation here, but not as much. And, it’s metal as opposed to the old garage that is wood and concrete.

I’d just hate to look in on the car one day and find my dash popped up.

Any suggestions to prevent that?
