This is what you get in the way of a spare wheel on my car. There’s no spare. Instead you get a compressor (yellow box), a spray (behind the compressor) and a valve removal tool, which you’ll need to spray the gunk in.

Except there wasn’t. You see that conspicuously empty slot? That’s where it would have been had some previous owner not removed it.

What to do? Why buy a new one of course. €5 or so from an actual shop, or €1.60 on ebay. Like so. Yes, it fits perfectly.

But here’s the thing. The tool was from a supplier in China, as you would expect. So for €1.60 somebody made it, put it into a ziplock bag, printed out a label, put it into another bag and posted it halfway across the world. But not posted the way you expect.

It arrived from..

Tonga.

Where?

Tonga.

In the event of not being delivered it should be returned to Tonga Post Ltd at the GPO in Nuku’alofa.

No, I haven’t a clue why it would make sense to ship a package from China to an island group in the middle of nowhere and then send it on to somewhere just about on the other side of the world.
