..I try not to get too philosophical around here but sometimes it is warranted. The reason Paul's death has affected many of us is two fold. First, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy who really loved cars and made some movies that struck a chord on some level. Second, his untimely death is a reminder that as gear heads we are dealing with dangerous machines and no matter how much we think we are in "control" accidents happen. Whether we are taking a ride in a friends car, going for a spirited drive, or the morning commute, everytime we turn that key there is an element of risk. Tragedies like this remind us of that risk.
