Today is a solemn day. As my coworker and former RCMP member says, Remembrance Day is not a day off, it’s a day for reflection. Living in Ottawa, I made it to the Remembrance Day ceremony every year. This year, I’m off to the Sasktel Centre here in Stoon for our city’s ceremony. I hope everyone takes their moment of silence today in order to reflect on the past, present, and future of war and peace. Take care, everyone.
As well, for our Canadian Opponauts, if you have a family member who was in the First World War (Second World War records are protected under privacy laws), there’s a database of their files here. I found the information for my great-grandfather, and it’s kind of fascinating to go through the records. I attached one of the papers from his file on this post.
