Let me tell you about my afternoon...

It started like this:

Then got to this point:

Where I adjusted the valves and then replaced the spark plugs.

And 6 hours later, things were back to picture #1 along with everything tidied up.

This is the first time I’ve ever done this.  If I had to do it again, I could probably do it in 3-4 hours instead of 6 (which also included a few breaks and time to consult some YouTube vids)

While adjusting the valves, I discovered that the right intake valve on cylinder #2 (2nd from left... and the intake valves are to the front) doesn’t like to hold its adjustment. I fucked around with it for a while, but basically, something is fucked up with that lifter. I figure at worst, cylinder 2 will operate like a 3 valve instead of a 4 valve.

One thing I found odd... I found I had to tighten the intake side and loosen the exhaust side.

Anyone here deeply knowledgeable about Honda engines know why that would be?

I would have thought that as an engine ages, the exhaust would get loose like the intake side.
