Even a crime boss like me find the attacks unimaginable. However, I am more disgusted at what happened afterward.
I understand the angry initial response—I did the same shit with my rivals—but I make sure I contain my wrath, careful to keep the problem within the underworld. Innocent people, who never even knew about the United States, died for nothing, and those who lived became what Americans now feared, often out of desperation.
Terror is real, the groups exist, and they’re out to make their point known. They must be stopped, but costs must be calculated, for we cannot afford to displace more people, and I do not want to see them exact revenge. I’ve learned my lesson with the Salzburg incident. I hope governments of the world learn the same.
