Today we were in Tokyo doing tourist stuff and we wanted to hit an Udon noodle festival for dinner. It just so happened that it was just down from Megaweb. Since my wife and father have never been I figured I would show them around. When we were walking through the Historic Garage I noticed the restoration team were working and there were a few folks in there. In my two previous visits I had never seen anyone on that side of the glass.
A few feet down I saw a door on the wall common with the shop that had an open sign. I asked a staff member if that meant I could go in and he said yes! So, my dad, wife and I went in to check it out.
They were just firing up the Dino. The mechanic had his nose in the engine bay while the other was polishing it up. In the main work bays there was a lovely Toyota S800 and a huge 50’s Caddy. The cars could not be more night and day. The mechanic was kind enough to open up the S800. It looked as good on the inside as it did on the outside.
It was too cool. I just wish I spoke Japanese so I could talk with the guys. They were all older gentlemen, but they seemed friendly enough,
Megaweb is also hosting a Toyota Motorsport display. Some cool classic racing hardware was on display.
