The Hotrod Power Tour Starts Saturday and I’ve been trying to get the Mini ready. That included replacing all the coolant lines. The little SOB shown was a pain. It runs from the head to the water pump and is a coolant bypass. I’m 99% sure that line has been in there since the car was built in 89/90. It basically disintegrated when the hose clamps were removed.

Getting the replacement in was not fun. I ended up calling a mechanic friend and he did most of the hard work. It’s good to have friends who are clever with that kind of thing. The gap between the head fitting and the pump fitting is about 1/2 inch.
