One of my best friends went to NY this past weekend with his old college Triathlon team to volunteer for the NYC Marathon.

On saturday, they had to go to the Jacob Javits Center for packet distribution (or some shit like that related to the Marathon). He stayed working all the time at the booth distributing packets, etc.

The other people in his volunteering crew walked around, meeting various popular runners but my friend elected to stay put because he didn't follow anyone in the marathon racing world... It wasn't until the event was almost over that he learned that none other than Alex Zanardi was at a booth, signing autographs. That's when he remembered Zanardi is one of the top wheelchair marathon runners in the world

Out of all the volunteers with him, he is the only motor racing fan and he missed out on even seeing Alex.
