So I installed a boost gauge in my 2001 Jetta 1.8t today. While I was in there, I noticed I had a line broken. I don't know how long it's been like that, or if I did it today, so I started the car and it ran fine. My new boost gauge read 6 psi max and averaged around 5. From what I've read, it's supposed to be around 8, so I'm not sure if that is a side effect from the broken line. The vacuum reads 20 inHg which is normal. The red dotted line is where the broken line goes (under the intake manifold) and attaches from the front of the head (clueless me) to the object circled in yellow (also under the intake manifold, I have no idea what it is). The line is broken where it attaches to [yellow]. Sorry if this is at all confusing, I have no idea what the line is for, or what it attaches to/does. Any help would be appreciated.

In summary: Broken vacuum line, car seems fine, should I be afraid to drive it?
