Context: This is a preproduction 2.5L VM R425. The engine was made in the summer of 2000. The KJ Liberty CRD went into production for the 2002 MY, this engine predates that. There are some funky things on this engine that were not in the production engines.

...they did [ask for warranty coverage] and we still tried to submit it to Hyundai which requires pictures and proof of maintenance and they immediately declined the warranty. Put it back together and customer took the car. Never heard from her again.
