Hopefully not a customer wait!
Don’t let that car piss on it!
I wish I could say this was uncommon, but my shop has four getting replaced right now and six more waiting out back...
You probably already saw this one, but the reddit post offers some more clues as to what happened:
A coworker took this 2017 gulia on a test drive with a customer, wet roads and a driver who wasn’t used to the power (id guess) downshifted and spun the rear end, ended up in someone’s yard.
OM NOM NOM
What could go wrong?
Yes...that is the exhaust welded directly to the tunnel brace.
Close up of more great welding on this here!
S3 exhaust mod wtf?
Transmission case was cracked due to expanding ice as well...
As far as I can tell it rolled over on its side and slid into a creek or river and filled up with water. It’s low twenties here
...one of the wheels still had stick weights on it
Just rolled- waitaminute...
We still don’t know what exactly exploded, it’s everywhere tho.
Even on the mirrors.
Someone’s gonna have a shitty Christmas
There were several of these mummified baby mice.
...didn’t expect a factory filter to be on that tight. Usually it’s the cars that haven’t been to the dealership for their last oil change.
Don’t do coke, kids.
Rear driveshaft front u-joint went bad, broke the transmission case, transmission adapter, transfer case tail shaft housing, driveshaft skip yoke, differential pinion bearings and who knows what else inside those units. Probably couldn’t hear the u-joint over the straight exhaust, first indication of a problem was that it wouldn’t move.

You don’t say?
Naturally it didn’t run any better with the filter re-installed... approx 100 miles since the oil was changed, thankfully not at this shop...
