After being inspired by the FP fantasy garage article I bought a Peugeot 205 GTi! I just brought it home. It's a 1988 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6. Although it needs a bit of work the car is solid and incredibly fun to drive.

My 406 coupe, parked next to it, is easily the superior highway cruiser. The 205 GTi is the king of back roads though, I was smiling the whole time I wasn't driving on a boring straight highway. The lack of power steering is refreshing, the lack of cruise control, AC and even automatic wipers and power mirrors needed some adjustment. It does have power windows, but the switch for the driver side window is broken. The power locks work flawlessly, so at least there's that. The engine is a gem. Interestingly the 205 feels much faster than the 406, even though they perform rather similarly.

I'll post updates when there's a significant development.

The driver side window doesn't function. Not because of the window switch, like the seller said. I checked. Probably something with the motor. I will need to replace that ugly plastic housing as well.
