A big truck came and blocked some driveways and delivered the Pajero. There are no condition suprises, and I even drove it back to work after lunch. Expect all the Pajero spamming of Oppo to commence over the coming days.
Until then, some initial impressions: Not nearly as slow as I was expecting it to be. I mean, you’re not to pick any drag races with it, but the turbo spools up nicely and it moves along just fine. It happily cruises at 75mph with the A/C on. Overall, it drives largely like an almost brand new 25 year old truck with sightly oversize tires. This truck is going to rock for cruising around the desert and up in the mountains. It is almost comically smaller than modern mid-size truck. This thing is going to be awesome off road.
So far, the strangest part of rhd is the wiper and turn signal stalks being reversed. A new radio will be on the priority list, as the Kenwood head unit only tunes from 76 to 90.0 MHz. I also made a crib sheet until I get used to converting kph to mph in my head.
