There is a LOT of crap out there, including stuff from people I normally like (Chris Rock, Bill Burr, Kevin James). But this is some of the best and most creative standup I’ve seen in a while. I really enjoy good anecdotes, puns, and traditional observational standup, and in this first one, Neal Brennan does all three (hence the name). Literally going from mic to mic several times in the show.

Three Mics

I had never heard of this guy until he joined Jerry Seinfeld on Comedians in Cars this season, which to date is still one of the best episodes ever. He’s the co-creator of Chappelle’s Show and co-wrote Half Baked, so the guy has been around a while. Such an excellent mind and great delivery. Thoroughly entertaining all around.

Another highly recommended couple of bits are Patton Oswalt’s first big special since his wife died, Annihilation.

And one of my longtime favorites, Mike Birbiglia, does Thank God For Jokes.
