WAREHAM - An illegally parked car at 1:30 a.m. led police to 45 grams of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and an arrest Friday.
Police said Wareham Officer Aaron Pacheco noticed an illegally parked vehicle occupied by a woman and a man at the Woods at Wareham Apartment complex, located off Swifts Beach Road in Wareham.
During investigation of the illegally parked vehicle, police said, the woman, identified as 24-year-old Courtney Cardoza of Onset, was noticed to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing approximately 20 grams of cocaine, which she attempted to kick under the police cruiser.
An inventory search of the vehicle operated by Cardoza revealed two small plastic bags containing marijuana, which were packaged for sale. The man was not found to be in possession of illegal substances and was not arrested at the scene. Cardoza was placed under arrest and transported to the Wareham Police Dept. for booking procedures, at which time she was found to be in possession of two more plastic baggies containing cocaine, bringing the total to approximately 45 grams of cocaine. She also had three small bags of suspected heroin, police said.
Cardoza has been charged with trafficking a class B substance (cocaine), possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute (heroin), and possession with intent to distribute a class D substance (marijuana). She was to be arraigned on the charges at Wareham Fourth District Court on Friday.
