Found one of these tire pressure/tread depth thingies over at the Goodwill Outlet. Not exactly an expensive item, but needless to say I got it for about 95% off list...

Surprisingly, the dealer said that my tires should be good for another year, but that it’s getting close to time to replace the front brakes. The parts seem to be available at Amazon at a reasonable cost ($63 for drilled/slotted rotors and a set of pads) and is something I should be able to accomplish in an hour or two. I just wish I found this out in the fall rather than winter. Can I make it to spring with just 2mm of brake pad left? I only drive about 6,000 miles per year.
