In either case when walking around my classroom today I noticed that one of my students had a copy of “The Art of Racing in the Rain” sitting on their desk next to their math book. When I asked what made them decide to read it the response was “we have to read it for literature class.” Apparently the English department is not only thinking outside of the box when it comes to novels for students to read they have tossed the box in the garbage.

Or they have taken required reading trolling to a whole new level.
