UPDATE: I am hearing beeping noises on startup, then it stops once I get to the error message. It’s the first time I’m hearing this beep, and it never beeps like that for as long as I’ve been using it.

So here I was, just finished breakfast, then I had a shower, then turned my Aspire ZC-605 on. It greeted me with a “Reboot and select proper boot device” error.

Now about 15 hours later I lie in my bed worried shitless about all the files stored there, among other things like browser bookmarks. What do I do? The HDD is top priority on boot, and now I’m scared at the thought that the disk is shot.
