Last week, a very JDM Mitsubishi GTO/3000GT was our spotlight, and I'm delighted to say that 68.09% of the voters gave it a nice price. On today's NPoCP.ph, after the announcement of the local DTM revival, I've tried to search any Mercedes 190E's on sale, and this one caught my attention.
Classic Mercs, specifically from the 70's to 80's, are pretty common in the Philippines. Strangely from what I've seen on the roads, 190E's are the least collectible Benz, especially in manual form. I'm quite baffled because I know it's very popular in the touring car scene, specifically the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (not Masters). Seeing the 190E DTM monster go about through corners and jump passed the apexes was incredible. It made me wanna live in the 80's. Since DTM revivals allow stock versions (i.e. BMW 320i [E30]), you can race this very machine.
The description is very short, but here's what the owner used to have in the Benz. This 190E is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, a 5-speed manual transmission and a stereo CD player. Here's where it gets interesting. The normally-equipped wheels (2nd photo) cost the price given. However if you want those 17" mags (in the photo above), it will cost you P130,000/$3,123.
It's not that bad. The interior is clean, the faux wood is shiny and the bodywork is in showroom conditions. But what do you think? Would you DD, Track (NP) or Burn (CP) this?
