If your Ford had a Matthew McConaughey, it would be a Lincoln

Ok, so an old S60R will be a maintenance nightmare...

How about this? I went and looked at it today, you would not be able to tell it has 180,000 miles from anything but the odometer. Car was in pristine shape inside and out, only signs of wear were a few mild stretch marks on the driver’s seat (clearly the owner was svelte) and a rub mark on the shifter. The rest of the pale interior looked untouched from dash to hatch, and the car drove beautifully. No warning lights, no weird noises or sensations, only a slight pull to the right which hopefully just means an alignment is needed. It’s a one-owner, local vehicle with extensive dealer service records. Is this likely to be a reliable DD, or will it rack up four figures in repairs and maintenance annually?
