Welcome to One Car Garage, in which I choose a manufacturer, and you decide one single vehicle that they make or made (no matter how old, no matter how exclusive) to live with for the rest of your life. This is your only vehicle, and all expenses are paid for, including price of entry, insurance, gas, etc.

I had lots of fun yesterday with the crazy Italianess that is Lamborghini, but today we’re going to be honoring Patriot Day here in America by choosing from the brand that’s as American as baseball, hot dogs and apple pie. We’re going with Chevrolet.

Again, being back in America made this decision very difficult for me. I spent a lot of time perusing Wikipedia, and I even consulted with my roommate who happens to be a mechanic at a local Chevy dealership. I was able to narrow it down to two cars. Sedans, no less, which you may know that I irrationally protest. My first thought was to go with a seventh generation Impala SS. A powerful car that is quite attractive in a subdued sort of way. What I ultimately decided to go with though, is essentially the (RWD) Impala SS’s spiritual successor. I’m going to go with the 2014 SS. While not officially available yet, there have been running prototypes and concepts. With more horsepower, more gear ratios and what looks to be more room, this car will be a little better suited as a lifer than the Impala.
