Welcome to One Car Garage, in which I choose a manufacturer or class of vehicle, and you decide choose single vehicle (no matter how old, no matter how exclusive) to live with for the rest of your life. This is your only vehicle, and all expenses are paid for, including price of entry, insurance, gas, etc.
Yesterday seemed to be largely about forced induction and all wheel drive, with the VR-4 being the centerpiece. Today we’re going to be heading over to France for only the second time to choose from the selection presented by Renault.
My choice largely reflects the choice I made a while back when we looked at Peugeot’s collection. The biggest difference here is that the car I chose from Peugeot was AWD equipped; my pick from Renault is RWD. The Renault 5 Turbo was born into a world of Rally, where it had four wins at the sports top level. It eventually met it’s demise at the hands of the AWD Group B beasts. Being as the 5 Turbo is a two seater, this is another case in which I’ll have to convince the fiancée to go with the more conventional choice.
