Recently, I've been thinking about how different the church has become when compared to the days following Jesus' resurrection. Now it seems, many of us (myself included), act like Christianity is some exclusive club whereby we only care about those who affirm what we already believe. In reality, Jesus teaches us to do the opposite. "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. [John 13]" In this way we are called to love everyone so that they may all see God's love and come to him. I know, it's easier to just shove off people who show disdain for what you choose to believe and act on, but remember that we were never called to fit in with the world, but to be the light of it. Hopefully if we all show the boundless love Jesus has shown to us, we can stand out as followers of Christ.
