So I just found out about a stillborn road course that was to be built in Palmer, MA.

According to Wikipedia, the track was approved by Palmer to be built in 2007, but in 2010 the company contracted to design and build the track cancelled the deal. It was supposed to take over for Lime Rock as the SCCA's flagship New England circuit, but the future of the project is uncertain. This is such a shame, because the proposed location of the Park was just ten minutes from my Dad's house (he lives in the neighboring town, Ware). This really sucks for me because I've never been able to go to a racetrack and I really want to. The closest track, Lime Rock, is four hours away from me on Cape Cod. This is too far for me to just drive out on a whim. It would've been nice to have something even remotely "local". Who knows, maybe it will eventually get built...
