Was a great day out this weekend, here are some pics from the fantastic turnout at Pasteiner's, where Porsches had the biggest presence, and my first Porsche swap meet! Made some new friends and did some awesome things! :)
Parking was so packed this time in the main lot(it's very small as you'll see), I had to park on the outside next to my friend, Scott, and his '89 944.
Look at this lovely Fiat.
The Italians and British had a presence in a big way as well!
Then, Scott and I left for the swap meet at Porsche of Farmington Hills!
This right here, is an actual '74 Carrera, used as a track day car, with 911 "safety stripes" which I hardly ever see anymore.
Scott and I were the only 944s there for both events, and while 911s are clearly the halo car of meets like these, it's still good to see the red-headed children getting some attention and love too! This worn 928 got some love too!
Heavily modified Carrera RSR
LOOK AT THIS ENGINE, MUCH SEX!! (;_;)
It was just really good to be in a place where people shared the same interests and passion in cars as I do.
Lastly, I drove this fantastic '81 911SC that belongs to my new friend, Wayne. With an F-Body Camaro muffler, modified custom short shifter, and custom seats, it's everything I want in an air cooled car! I'm not used to short shifters as I prefer long throws in shifting, but it has more than enough power(more than my 944 or 911) for daily driving, the manual steering is heavy and sublime around corners, and that flat-six sound coming through that 'Murican muffler was awesomesauce!! I WISH CARS COULD BE LIKE THIS AGAIN DAMMIT!
This is the only sound clip I have of the SC, but when you get above 4000rpm and peg 7k, holy whale tail Batman!! :D
Overall, fantastic Saturday, and this weekend is the MSU show! :D
