Yesterday I ended up deciding on a whim to go check out the all British field meet in Portland. Mainly, I went there hoping to see an XJ220 because it has always been one of my all time favorite cars. Sadly, there was no XJ220 waiting for me, but instead there was such a wide array of British automotive eyecandy, I felt like I had been dropped right in the middle of this years Top Gear UK finale.
Pictured above is a Lotus Eleven (one of 3 at the show), there was vintage racing happening all day and I got the chance to see this one taken to the track.
And here is another lotus Eleven that is rumored to have been driven by Stirling Moss, the owner knew nearly the cars entire history.
While I was still in the lotus section I snapped a picture of one of my favorites, the Lotus Esprit
After drooling a bit more over the Lotus Elevens, I headed over to the Jag Section to be met by this gorgeous MK2.
And a line of E-Types
One of them was for sale, but way outside of my budget :(
And there was this, I don't even know what it was, but it was beautiful. (maybe a Mark IV?)
There were a few awesome race tuned Jags including this E-Type
Just look at that engine!
And then there was this BEAST
Yes it's a tuned v12, here is the front.
And no, those are not headlights
Unfortunately, I did not get to look under the hood.
A Morgan 3 wheeler was in attendance.
There was a large number of Land Rovers present as well,
including this one that was turned into a bit of an artwork.
I'm terrible at identifying cars that were made before the 60's even though I think they look awesome, so here are some cool old MGs.
There were a few exceptionally clean late 60's - early 70's Triumphs (bikes)
and some Nortons. *drool*
And then I came to the Minis, which included probably my favorite car of the show
I did not even know that they made a Mini Pickup, here is a normal sized person standing next to it for scale.
There were also some OG Mini Countrymen!
and a Moke (Mini Jeep)
Also parked among the Minis was this, which I cannot Identify (perhaps someone could help me with that?) was this tiny Coupe.
And this one,
which was mid engined.
There was also a Hayabusa powered Mini.
Overall there was a huge turnout, and there were many more cars present that I did not get to take any pictures of.
