Playing with Toys

Illustration for article titled Playing with Toys

I learnt that there are two types of inverters: modified sine wave and deep fried sine wave. (Well, the first one is a thing, but I can’t remember what you call the second kind.) Dumb things like transformers don’t care about that difference, but smart things, like medical devices, do care. So I’m running a length of 6 ga. primary wire to power the new inverter, which claims to carry 1100 watts, which would be on the order of 100 amps at car power levels, but I’ll never be using that much electrons at once. But it’s fun playing with this stuff.
