One of the reasons I bought a used car is so I can mess with it. To start with, I’m getting 19" wheels with summer tires, and putting snow tires on the stock 18s as winter gets closer. I’m also going to lower it, since the stock xDrive suspension has big ugly wheel gap, especially in the front.

My criteria for wheels are 19x8.5" front, 19x9.5" rear, light weight with quality construction, and not too pricey. I found these wheels called the Advanti Catalan at Tire Rack, and I like how they look while meeting my criteria.

I had never heard of Advanti, but I did a little research, and turns out it’s part of YHI International, the distributor of wheel brands like O.Z. and Enkei. Advanti wheels aren’t made by Enkei, but they have a line of flow-formed wheels made with the MAT flow-forming technology licensed from Enkei. These weigh about 22 lbs each in the 19" sizes I want, and in theory should be nice and strong, since the 235/35-19 and 275/30-19 tires I’ll be putting on them aren’t exactly going to provide a lot of impact protection for the wheels.

I couldn’t find pics of the wheels on my car specifically, but I did find the 20" version in similar widths & offsets on a 7-series and an Audi S7. I think they look pretty dang good, and not too tuner-y which I’m trying to avoid. Just need to figure out if Tire Rack can put some BMW logo center caps on them or I can find those elsewhere so they look as OEM-ish as possible.
