"The worm has to taste good to the fish, not the fisherman." - Bernd Osterloh, head of VW works council on not meeting their targets on the American market
I take it as a sign that they realized that their idea of decontented US-only models was a bad one, as far as ideas go???? No more Camry-fighting US Passat and Jetta, but the real deal for you guys? Interpret this at at your own free will!
Found this in the ADAC newsletter. And yes, I am still a member despite the ongoing scandal. I got my membership fee's worth of towing and roadside assistance with various vehicles over the years. ;)
For those not familiar with the scandal: They made up some worthless "Car of the Year" like trophy and rigged the vote Soviet-style. It got so bad that the "winning" manufacturers returned their trophies. It also cast a dark shadow on other consumer advice they do. Tires, batteries, child seats? Winner paid for by Big Money?
