My brother-in-law traded in his Nissan R35 GT-R for a gen-1 Audi R8 V10 last fall. As the guy in the family with the camera and some experience taking pictures of cars, it naturally fell to me to provide some coverage of his new pride-and-joy.

However, I did not want to just stand around a parking lot. Thus, in early May, I wrangled both our families to go on a weekend trip to Vancouver Island to drive the Pacific Marine Circle Route and then spend the second day in Victoria.

2nd and final fuel stop, just before the ferry for home (Greater Vancouver recently broke the record for the most expensive gasoline price ever in North America, topping out at over $1.62CAD+ / L or $6USD+ / gal, due to one of the highest rate of carbon-related taxes in US and Canada... so I always top up before coming home):
