Random hypothetical question.

Since emissions tests are not required on 25-year-old cars, could you hypothetically register and use one of the affected TDIs in 2041 or so if you hadn’t taken advantage of the buyback? I can’t imagine a real reason to save one for that long without being able to drive it, but it would just be interesting to have possibly the only surviving example in the future.
