I’ve had this funky rear brake thing going on for years on my Safari where they sort of stick on one side and are a bit reluctant to release. This is in spite of replacement spring kits, wheel cylinders and so on. Now it’s gotten a bit more pronounced.
I’ve found a rear disc brake conversion kit from some extremely helpful folks at a place called Little Shop Manufacturing, out of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. I’ve watched many disc brake upgrades being applied on Motor Trend On Demand, and now it’s my turn. Dude understood exactly what I had for a rear axle, had me check a couple of measurements, and we’re off to the races.
This is the kit I’ll use, including parking brake, but skip the drilled/slotted rotors (fully compatible with stock master cylinder and metering block):
