The Hamster is presenting a new show for Discovery UK, which is also showing on The Science Channel and Amazon Prime (Edit: Seems to be UK only), where he showcases large things (because he is smol). In the first episode, which premiered on Sci last week, he toured the VW factory/city in Wolfsburg, and this week he was in Delaware to take part in a training mission for the C-5M Super Galaxy.
It’s absolutely worth a watch, even if you’ve seen other specials on the Galaxy. In addition to the actual mission, loading a small convoy of MRAPs and tankers on the plane, then taking off and refueling before returning, Richard also learns about maintaining the C-5, including a massive $8 million dollar gantry used to service the tail of the plane, finding bad panels n the skin (with a hammer!) and how the immense high-bypass engines that propel the giant cargo plane are built and tested.
