Ridiculous Imports: 2JZ Supra - Paint Required?!!!

The sickness is being spread to all facets of this hobby we love. First it was anything with a prancing horse or an emergency number in its name. Now, even our beloved tuner & import cars are beginning to suffer. Wear your N95 mask, and take your vitamins, I don’t want any of you catching the bug after viewing this Supra!

A classic Florida suntan... from Mississippi.

This is a 1994 Toyota Supra TURBO! It has the right engine with the 2JZGTE and the right transmission with the row-as-you-go six speed manual. It’s even a desirable color being black... errr mostly black.... errr mostly dark?

Love that two tone black and lesser-black.

This Supra recently sold on eBay for a staggering $35,600. Sure you’ve got a low-ish mile car with 103,068 shown on the odometer but... IT NEEDS PAINT.

Having owned one car with a fantastic repaint, I’ll be the first to tell you this won’t be cheap. My former Camaro required seventeen thousand bones to get to a flawless orange. Black on the other hand can be mighty tricky and expensive for a body guy to get right - and right you’ll want it.

A car this expensive isn’t worthy of a piece meal paint job. Do it all or do nothing.

The MKIV Supra is a rising star, and will continue to eclipse autos in value that we couldn’t fathom ten years ago. Could the Toyota Supra become the next bubble? Or is it destine to become the Hemi Cuda or Challenger of our generation? If this car is any indication - we average men are screwed - ‘more than you can afford pal, Supra’.

Should have stopped driving it four thousand miles ago to keep it under 100k. Why? The psychology of the five-digit odo foo!
