I've always been interested in motorsport, but until recently I've always suffered from, in reverse chronological order, a lack of money, time, money, and family support. I had known about road rallying for some time, but anytime I'd brought up the idea of racing of any kind, many people I know start babbling on about NASCAR. Thus is living on the outskirts of Appalachia.

Has anyone here done any road rallying? I ask because I'm thinking about trying one out sometime this year. I know it's not really a competition, but it's something interesting to do with cars that won't cost me a lot of money, and may in the future end up with me being able to participate in it with my kid(s).

For your troubles, here's what I expect to be the best actual rally car I could ever afford would be.
