In order to help new and experienced Personal Watercraft enthusiasts make better purchasing decisions, as well as provide them with an entertaining read, I would like to start dishing out some more reviews.
I will have a full, comprehensive (and as unbiased as I can manage considering I own one) review of the 2015 Yamaha FX Cruiser HO at the start of the season here. I will also be reviewing a 2013 Sea-Doo GTi SE 155 which is owned by a friend of mine. I’ll be including videos with the reviews as well.
My other option is to link to and discuss reviews by other publications. But, I would like to do more. I would like to provide my own hands-on opinion complete with detailed pros and cons of the craft I try. Basically, I want to ride and review a bunch of watercraft. The problem being, I don’t have access to a nice variety and don’t work for a boat dealership, so my options are limited.
So, I would like to ask anyone who reads this who either lives in the Ottawa/Gatineau area and owns a PWC or, by some stroke of luck, owns a deslership that sells PWCs and would be open to letting me try their machine(s). I’m open to trying all brands, models and years. You have an older mode you want to show off and simply have reviewed? No problem! Want to see how a new model stacks up against it’s competition? Will do! I will even give exposure to the businesses that provide the craft I review. I’ll even pay for my own fuel that I use and promise to abide by all marine rules and regulations regarding my conduct and safety on the water.
I want to follow the new review format that Jalopnik is adopting which is similar to Kotaku’s review format. So, I would review every aspect of the craft from design to performance, handling, comfort and features. And then categorize my findings in a nice infographic for pros, cons and final verdict.
I don’t necessarily expect this shoutout to be very popular. People are always weary about letting others try their toys, especially if they believe it’s just for a free joyride. But I’m tossing it out there anyways. I hope to provide the readers with some interesting material. So, if you’re interested, leave a comment!
