SEAT Steals Nürburgring FWD Lap Record From Renault

The SEAT Leon Cupra has apparently beaten the previous lap record for a front-wheel-drive car around the green hell by around ten seconds. The 276bhp hot hatch set a time of 7m58.4s, so it's also the first FWD car to break the eight-minute barrier. And it's faster than the SRT Viper, the Aston DBS and the Cadillac CTS-V, apparently. Take that, rear-wheel-drive.

The previous record was, obviously, held by the mighty Renault Mégane RS 265 Trophy with 8m07.97s, and I like Renault a whole lot more than SEAT. I hope Renault Sport get back out there and kick those krautspaniards' asses.
