I was a valet at an upscale Italian restaurant that generally gets no (valet) business, so tip wise its normally a terrible night. A few feet from the valet stand there is a gap next to some parking spots that is a no parking zone, but lots of people like to try to park there, they generally bail once they realize its not though.

So I see an older Audi A3 hatch pull into the spot and I give the car a quick look but nothing else. The driver gets out with some friends and says “I see you looking at me, you know what I did” I just respond with “I ain’t a meter maid, I cant do anything.” he comes back with “You’re gonna make sure I dont get towed.” I respond with “Dude, I can’t do anything, thats not my job.” he pretty much ignores what I said and says “What you are gonna do, is if you anyone is getting near this car you are gonna go to that bar down there and find me, and when I come back I’ll give you a tip” at this point all I can say “Um... sure?” he says again “I need your word on this.” more than confused I say “Yeah, yeah, sure” and then they leave.

About an hour and a half later, nothing had happened, and the guy comes back and hands me $20. All I can say “You made my fucking night, man” and he responds with “Yeah, and you dont know what was in this car”

So I’m not exactly sure what I agreed to, but $20 is $20.
