So I realize practically no one here knows who I am. But Im going to pretend you all do anyways.
Im going to be 30 in a few weeks, so my wife helped me (Read: finally caved) buy a motorcycle. Its a 1994 Yamaha Virago XV535, and it has just under 10K miles. But its broken, and Im not allowed to play with it until I put my other toys back together.
I bought it from a guy who says he has no mechanical skill, and that the bike wasnt starting. He bought a new starter and battery. Unfortunately when I went to pick it up it was slightly disassembled. Im pretty good at fixing things, and the internet is amazing for stuff like that.
It turns out the single carb conversion installed on the bike is valued at more than what I paid for the bike as well, so thats a big plus. Plans are to throw half the thing in the trash since the fenders, turn signals, and handle bars are hideous.
Edit: More info, Ive never owned or ridden a motorcycle before. I paid $500, the carb setup new is $550. I live in the Myrtle Beach area of SC.
