Spotted this on my way home the other day in the semi-rural coastal community of Mill Cove / Aspotogan (First Nations name - pronounced ‘As-po-tawg-an’) here in Nova Scotia. My brother and I were carpooling as we were sub-teaching at the same school for the day and I had to do a stop mid-sentence and a double-take at what I’d just seen. Sure enough, it WAS what I thought it was!

I’ve never seen one before in person and, considering they are kits from the States, they are rare in general, let alone seeing one here in ‘middle of nowhere’ Nova Scotia, Canada! Sorry for the crappy dashcam pic!

It’s a Smyth Ute conversion kit on a 1999-2004 Jetta! Looks like the owner had a pretty respectable job done it on! :)

I’m not a VW guy, but even I still have to admit it’s pretty cool!
