Steering linkages and U-joints

This is something I’ve been wondering about for a while now: with a U-joint, there’s no guarantee of continuous velocity when things are rotating, depending on the angles involved. That’s why cars mostly use CV joints. But what about steering linkages that contain multiple U-joints? Is the difference just not significant enough that it’s still fine to use U-joints for steering?
