The wheels on my 2006 Rav 4 are so pitted that even after copious grinding of the lip I can’t get them all to seal. I finally gave up and ordered a new set of aluminium wheels:
I’m up-sizing to 17 inchers to replace the base 16 inch steelies. Smaller == Better for me, since tires only get more expensive and rougher riding as you get bigger.
I picked up a set of BF Goodrich Advantage T/A SPORT LT tires (TireRack) to go on them:
A new set of TPMS and the total bill will be north of $1k. I needed new tires anyway before snow flies, so I’m trying to tell myself it’s really just the cost of wheels ($450) that was added on but it still hurts.
