I bought a fancy Accord with a beak. I enjoy it, but it might be time for a change soon. Still, I like photographing it.
10 years ago this month, the first batch of the car that was known as the 2nd generation Acura TSX in North America and the 8th generation Honda Accord in the rest of the world was produced. My TSX is one of those first-month cars, so I took a few photos to celebrate. I tried out a lens on my Canon 50D that I hadn’t…
Switched out my boring USDM hazard switch for a big honking red JDM one. Took about an hour to take it apart and put it back together, which is about what I expected. The write-up on Acurazine is missing a step, which added a couple minutes, but it really was fairly simple. I’ve done more involved OEM mods on my…
Means I get to enjoy the scenery on some curvy roads.
The TSX had a Honda friend at work today. This isn’t exactly a rare sight as the S2K belongs to a coworker, but we rarely park beside each other.
I like mine the best.
I normally don’t like the low-and-slow look, but this guy’s JDM Accord Tourer converted to look like a TSX wagon is something I really am a fan of.
Nooooooope. As much as I want it, it’s not worth the risk.
When I told the service guy at the Acura dealer I had a 6-speed TSX, he said I need to hold onto it as long as I can. The TLX answers why, in spades.
The snow sucks, though. Even if it isn’t sticking.
Yes, some people in Japan go for the USDM look.
And 8 months. That’s how long it took for my oil life to go down from 100% to the first maintenance minder reminder (15%) in the TSX. Just need to find out if there’s anything else that needs to be done around 120k.
Welcome to TSX vs. the World, a new recurring series where I compare my 2009 6-speed TSX head-to-head against other random cars. The first of these involves another late model midsize sedan, a friend’s 2014 Ford Fusion SE with the 1.5 EcoBoost.
Found a manual 2nd gen TSX Technology Package for sale. Less than 5% of CU2s in the US were manual, and very few of those had the Tech Package equipped.
Going to see my avatar in concert tonight. Currently drinking at Dale Earnhardt Jr’s restaurant. The TSX performed admirably. I-85 is one giant construction zone in NC, but traffic wasn’t bad until I got close to Charlotte.
Great at hiding dirt. Just in general one of my favorite Honda colors. This is after two days of commuting 40 miles in each direction on roads that still have some salt and sand on them.
It’s the last interesting Acura. Well, aside from that other one.
Found a V6 TSX that didn’t have V6 wheels.
It was a roller coaster for ol’ Two Sheds. My Prelude broke down several times, was a hit and run victim, and I drove it in the snow for what hopefully was the only time, but I got new wheels and tires for it. I then bought a TSX to do daily duties and ended up driving it far more often than the Prelude, which rarely…
Milano Red TSX wagon. Quite possibly the least interesting unicorn ever and I want one right now.
