I was fortunate to go the the North American International Auto Show, or the Detroit Auto Show for short, or the NAIAS for shorter, this week and have a few thoughts and photos to share.
All my attempts to purchase a DSLR this previous week were thwarted at every single turn.
As always, the most interesting things were mostly not the new models displayed by manufacturers, with the possible exception of the Acura NSX, but the interesting things around the edges. Although I did enjoy sitting in a BMW M4, a Tesla Model X, whatever Lexus calls their version of the Land Cruiser these days, an…
There’s car pictures, too, but I’m going to go with dash theme first
Not as many new rides as last year, but a few winners. I like the new Stinger and the V90 in brown is glorious. A lot of classics, the Mecum auction was in town as well.
Hey guys so I got to check out the press day of the DFW (or Dallas Fort Worth auto show) The list of cars was insanely impressive including all the recent announcements thus far (Minus the McLaren 720 sadly).
Auto shows let you do things like touch cars and play with features. Sometimes you find unknown or unintended features that could be exploited for great fun. This is one of those features.
Haven’t been in years actually. Any good freebies this year?
Sealed beams and all.
Still haven’t seen a NA2 NSX, the music they’re playing in the background is so bad.
Since 2015, I’ve been attending my local auto show, that being the Providence Auto Show. At this event, automakers open up their vehicles to the public of Rhode Island, and showcase a few other meaningless products. I’m going to be covering it (even though it is the weekend right after high school mid term exams).…
I generally get bored by auto shows - partly because I have the attention threshold of a hyper-curious 3 year old. But mostly because all the stalls are just sales pitches stuffed to the brim with hype and proprietary technobabble.
For the last couple of years have Detroit has been the most exciting car show of the year, even making Geneva appear fairly tame. This year the exciting news is a new Lexus battleship, a quick Kia liftback, and the official 2018 angry Camry. Considering that CES will probably debut all the awesome concept cars is…
This concept by Mercedes-Benz is supposed to represent the future of Mercedes’ electric car division to fight Tesla Motors. “Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche insisted the fully scalable powertrains and architectures inside the Generation EQ would give his company a battery-electric family of an SUV, a sedan, a wagon, a…
What I’ve heard: It is too similar to the current X1. It strays from the current BMW styling. I like the looks for the most part. What do you think?
I love auto show season. It’s a shame that my local show is so pathetic sometimes. This year was better than last year, for sure...though I’m still disappointed at the lack of Cadillac. Anyway, here are the highlights:
Yesterday, I went to the Atlanta Auto Show with my dad, and it was awesome. I saw a lot of the cars on sale today and took around 100 pictures, but since there are a lot of show-goers in the shots and the photos are on my phone, I’ll just go without for now. However, if any of y’all want pictures, please let me know…
We are well into auto show season now, as I’m sure you’ve seen, what with all the Chirons and Regeras. But we are not in Geneva. That’s for a few different reasons. Reason one: my passport is expired. Reason two: the Swiss are too polite to be trusted. Reason C: RFD does not have the budget to send me to Switzerland.…
Full manual photography is hard (, yo!).
