The Creek Fire near Los Angeles claimed an AW11.
You may remember my post a few weeks back about my rusty exhaust shearing in TWAIN on the highway. That was fun. Well, since that was the last OE exhaust for the Supercharged MR2's back when I bought it, and no aftermarket options exist for anything resembling a reasonable price, I had to go the DIY route.
“You know those are illegal,” ...they told us at every toll booth.
Haven’t had a chance to get near the new one in a minute, but it easily survived a 1300 mile drive to Florida, then 1300 miles back in less than 48 hours. Not bad for a car that cost a little over a grand and has 175k miles on it. The only issue was that I noticed a brake caliper starting to hang when I rolled into…
Our 1985 MR2 race car we bought specifically for autocross just made a surprise trip to Florida from New York City in order to get registered correctly.
Have an MR2! This ‘85 was recently rescued and is now happy again after getting its old clutch master cylinder replaced. Pic from over the weekend.
How many MR2s is too many? Don’t know. There might not be such a thing as too many MR2s.
As I suspected, now that I got my Frontier as a DD, I sadly don’t find myself driving the MR2 much anymore. If it’s a nice day and I want to go for a spirited drive, I’d rather take the SV650. If it’s not a nice day or I just want to be comfy, I’ll take my truck.
Had a friend of mine reach out to me as one of his friends is trying to sell his 1985 AW11 MR2. He said it was mint, and I figured “mint” meant as mint as you’d expect your average AW11 would be for $5500 canadian.
It only took me about 3-3.5 hours, but I’m also very mechanically familiar with the car. The worst part by far was dealing with the factory springy hose clamps.
Fill my head with facts, beautiful ones and warnings!
The early fall is a magical time of year. The hot humid days start to give way to pleasant, crisp mornings. Leaves begin their colorful transition from green to yellows, oranges, and browns. Pumpkin spice flavored everything takes over the menus. And for one day, the sound of turbos rings through the New York/New…
I was looking for a picture of the back of a 2000 Hyundai Elantra wagon with the rear seats down for the “Space Car” theme since I’m a firm believer that there’s no car ever made with more cargo space relative to the external dimentions of the car than that one. I don’t care about what people list as cargo volume.…
This is honesty in advertising.
Hey Oppo, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything! Just wanted to share some pics I took of the MR2. Pics I took... for the eBay listing :’((((((
